It makes a very nice walk in the nice weather, and is one of the reasons why I love Oslo in winter! You can start the hike from the metro station Frognerseteren. The weather was perfect for a hike – overcast and in the high 50s. Once we made it to the top, we took in the vast views of Oslo: the sea, the city, the ski jump and so many trees. We stayed up at the viewpoint for a while, enjoying the peace of nature and company of a few other groups of hikers.

Our last activity was a planned stroll to the top of Vettakollen Vettakollen is a peak located between Holmenkollen and Sognsvann, just on the northern edge of the city, providing some of the best panoramic views of Oslo. A round trip hike to the top of Vettakollen from the nearest T-bane stop can be done in about an hour and is quite accessible for hikers of all skill levels. Getting to Vettakollen is very easy via the metro.
